a sunset!

look at this lovely glass of juice made with "dapple dandy" pluots and a yellow peach

edit :ugh, i'm glad i had this delicious juice, because i was a terrible eater the rest of the day. two non-raw meals!(even if they had a few non-raw elements. darn that free lunch, it came with consequences!) but i'm really just letting myself down. which mean i vow to eat all raw tomorrow!! i'm making some crackers and raw hummus tonight. it'll help to have things that go well with veggies to make them easier to snack on.

  1. This drink looks so amazing! Sometime I should ask you what pluots are. Have you made anything for this raw experience that you really didn't like the taste of?

  2. Pluots are made by crossbreeding plums and apricots. and they are quite juicy and good. they taste and look mostly like plums, but are smaller.
    hmm, food i didn't like...
i tried dehydrating eggplant since i'd gotten a free one ( and i'd had success with zucchini chips.) but when dried they became woody and inedible. i have seen a recipe where marinated eggplant is supposed to taste like bacon, but i have doubts.

i have tried drying the pulp from the juicer, and i'll have to admit i dont care for it. i mixed some carrot pulp in with a cracker recipe and that was fine, but carrot, or a fruit pulp(apple mostly) on its own is bleah. once you remove the sweet juice, the pulp dries to a hard , flavorless bark. maybe if i added honey back into it to add sweetness and moisture, i might be able to get a fruit leather out of it.
